Belinda Lester – Find out more about Belinda
Since qualifying as a solicitor in 1999 I have worked exclusively in the area of employment law. I have frequently been commended by my clients for being clear, concise, practical and solution focused whilst at the same time being empathetic and supportive.
Although I have expertise in all areas of employment law, whether that be in relation to contentious matters or simply advising or drafting, I have a real passion for dispute resolution and my background in psychology, which I studied at university before converting to law, helps me in this area.
I am a tough negotiator and (I am told) a fearsome litigator. However, whether I am representing individuals or companies in litigation or just providing advice or reviewing/drafting a contract or handbook, I will always have my client’s desired outcome at the forefront of my mind. Client care and excellent service are my top priorities. In my opinion, every client should feel like my only client and, so far, I believe I have achieved this objective.

Melissa Vangeen – Find out more about Melissa
I have a wealth of experience advising in relation to employment law matters. I practice all aspects of employment law and work with both employers (large and small) and employees (senior and junior). I advise on a broad range of both contentious and non-contentious matters including disciplinary and grievance issues, redundancies, corporate restructures, all forms of discrimination, dismissals, bonus and pay issues, TUPE and post-termination restrictions. I have experience of working with businesses and individuals in a diverse range of industries and across numerous sectors. I have developed a specialism in advising employers and employees through settlement agreement discussions, including delivering advice to employee groups within large scale redundancy programmes.
I advise businesses both with existing HR support and without, offering practical and commercially minded legal solutions. Through Lionshead Law’s affiliate, Immigration Law Solutions, I also advise businesses in relation to all aspects of UK immigration and am also very experienced in assisting individuals and their family members to work and reside in the UK. I always aim to offer straightforward yet comprehensive advice that is both commercial and tailored to the client’s needs. I have been praised for my commercial approach to work and for my practical, clear and solution-based advice.
I qualified and practiced for 10 years in a City law firm, and was most recently a Partner and Head of Employment and Immigration in a London law firm. I now enjoy practising in a niche employment law setting.

Omar Qassim – Find out more about Omar
I have over 16 years’ experience working as an employment lawyer and I have acted for both claimants and respondents in private practice, in-house and the public sector covering both contentious and non-contentious work.
Aside from the technical knowledge gathered over the years, I would say that my greatest strength is my proven ability to communicate with a range of clients from director level down and across varied sectors, providing well-founded advice based on a careful analysis of their particular set of circumstances and the relevant legislative provisions.
It is the ever evolving employment legislation coupled with the very real and demanding human element of this area of the law that I find both fascinating and motivating.
My track record shows that I provide pragmatic and flexible commercial advice and am a successful and skilled negotiator – whether acting for employer or employee.
I am of Iraqi and Swedish descent and was born in Madrid, where I spent my formative years. I subsequently lived in Kuwait and Sweden before completing my studies and obtaining my Law degree from the University of Sheffield. My background has enabled me to become a skilled multi-linguist, being fluent in Spanish, French, Swedish and Arabic. I believe that having lived in various countries and having experience of many different cultures certainly helps explain why I have empathy and understanding of people from all walks of life and professional backgrounds.
