Belinda Lester – Owner & Solicitor, London
Since qualifying as a solicitor in 1999 I have worked exclusively in the area of employment law. I have frequently been commended by my clients for being clear, concise, practical and solution focused whilst at the same time being empathetic and supportive.
Although I have expertise in all areas of employment law, whether that be in relation to contentious matters or simply advising or drafting, I have a real passion for dispute resolution and my background in psychology, which I studied at university before converting to law, helps me in this area.
I am a tough negotiator and (I am told) a fearsome litigator. However, whether I am representing individuals or companies in litigation or just providing advice or reviewing/drafting a contract or handbook, I will always have my client’s desired outcome at the forefront of my mind. Client care and excellent service are my top priorities. In my opinion, every client should feel like my only client and, so far, I believe I have achieved this objective.

Melissa Vangeen – Solicitor, London
I have a wealth of experience advising in relation to employment law matters. I practice all aspects of employment law and work with both employers (large and small) and employees (senior and junior). I advise on a broad range of both contentious and non-contentious matters including disciplinary and grievance issues, redundancies, corporate restructures, all forms of discrimination, dismissals, bonus and pay issues, TUPE and post-termination restrictions. I have experience of working with businesses and individuals in a diverse range of industries and across numerous sectors. I have developed a specialism in advising employers and employees through settlement agreement discussions, including delivering advice to employee groups within large scale redundancy programmes.
I advise businesses both with existing HR support and without, offering practical and commercially minded legal solutions. I always aim to offer straightforward yet comprehensive advice that is both commercial and tailored to the client’s needs. I have been praised for my commercial approach to work and for my practical, clear and solution-based advice.
I qualified and practiced for 10 years in a City law firm, and was most recently a Partner and Head of Employment and Immigration in a London law firm. I now enjoy practising in a niche employment law setting.
